Recently joining the ranks as board members for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme (BGCOP) are Dr. Catherine Chien of Oxnard Children’s Dental, Larry Nathanson, attorney at law, and Michael Orman of County Commerce Bank. “We are thrilled to add three great leaders with such diverse backgrounds to serve the children of Oxnard and Port Hueneme,” said Tim Blaylock, chief professional officer for BGCOP.
A graduate of UCLA’s pediatric dentistry program and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Chien owns Oxnard Children’s Dental Group in Oxnard. In addition to serving BGCOP, she is a volunteer with Camp Laurel and St. Baldrick’s. Nathanson is a CPA and attorney in Westlake Village who has volunteered at Channel Islands Legal Aide and teaches at Moorpark College. Orman, a graduate of USC, has been in banking for nearly 35 years with his most current position at County Commerce Bank as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Always active as a volunteer, Mike believes strongly that employers should be active corporate citizens. To that end, he is an active Rotarian in the Ventura Marina chapter, and a member of the CSUCI Business and Technology Partnership.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme exists to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. With three full-service clubs, 18 school program sites, one Juvenile Justice
Facility site and one housing site, the organization is one of the largest of its kind in California, serving 7,200 members annually. The group is also the first Boys & Girls Club of its kind to open a site at the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center. Program areas offered to youth include character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, technology and sports/fitness/recreation.
