Community rallies for local kids at 22nd annual auction

The Black & White Gala, 22nd Annual Donald K. Facciano Kids Auction, is a black tie event and the organization’s largest special event fundraiser. The auction which took place Nov.19 at the Residence Inn by Marriott Hotel in Oxnard, was a resounding success, raising more than $304,000 for the group’s 18 club sites and nearly 9, 000 kids they serve.

NASCAR’s Tony Stewart volunteers for local club raffle

Three time and reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart has volunteered to help the Boys & Girls Clubs Million Dollar Raffle as its spokesperson and has donated a VIP NASCAR experience that includes a personal meet-and-greet with Stewart. The NASCAR prize will be given away in a new bonus drawing to be held in March.

Boys & Girls Clubs announce new board members

Four community leaders have joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme’s board of directors, helping to create an expanded, more diversified board. The new members include Stephen MacIntosh, general manager of Republic Services, Inc.; Stuart Nielson, attorney with Arnold LaRochelle Mathews VanConas & Zirbel LLP; Robert Sills, community advocate; and Police Chief Jeri Williams, Oxnard Police Department.
