Run for fun while helping our youth

For a third year in a row, the Club is taking part in the Santa to the Sea half marathon Charity Challenge, where race participants can help raise money for the Club. Anyone can donate money; you don’t have to be a runner.

BGCOP is one of five designated charities for the December race event and is fortunate to be partnering with Assemblyman Jeff Gorell, who is our team captain. He will help motivate runners and community members to donate to the Club during the race.

Race participants can choose BGCOP as their charity when they register. Participants who help raise money for the Club can receive a number of prizes and incentives, including an iPod shuffle, movie passes and Boys & Girls Club T-shirts. The top three fundraisers will receive a gift certificate and an award.

There is also a separate donation section on the Santa to the Sea website where anyone in the community can help raise money during the race by choosing BGCOP.

The Santa to the Sea race takes place Dec. 8 in Oxnard and offers four different types of races for people to walk or run: half marathon, two-person relay race, 5k run and a 1k fun run.

Help us make Santa to the Sea a successful event and help BGCOP at the same time!
