Booming with excitement: 18 BGCOP teens attend National Keystone Conference

2014 keystone conference

“The 2014 National Keystone Conference is booming with exciting things from the time you walk in to the time you leave,” writes Claire B. on her myclublife.com article on the Club’s recent trip to the Conference in Anaheim. Nearly 20 BGCOP teens and three advisors joined 1,500+ club teens from across the nation at the April 10-13 conference. The Conference celebrated Keystone’s 50th birthday. BGCOP was nominated for Keystone of the Year and voted 1 of 6 best clubs in the country. Club member, Amber H. was 1 of 9 teens chosen across-the-board to serve on the 2014 National Steering Committee. This committee of teens plans out the entire conference with the help of advisors and BGCA staff. Various teens and clubs received achievement awards at the Awards Ceremony, which Claire writes about in her Keystone ’14: Friday Awards Ceremony article (http://www.myclubmylife.com/keystone/Pages/keystone-14-blog-friday-evening-energy.aspx)

During this amazing weekend, the teens worked together to discuss solutions and develop action plans for addressing the most pressing issues facing youth in their local Clubs and communities.

“The best part of this conference was being able to watch our kids mature over the weekend and seize the opportunities given to them,” said LaCresha McManus, BGCOP Keystone advisor.
